Last month I made a small announcement on instagram that I signed up to do a 60k race in LiJiang, China organized by Action Asia Events. It was one of the biggest challenges I’ve ever signed up for so I trained at least 12k a day, and tried to be as healthy as possible. One week before the race I found out I couldn’t make it due to visa issues. I’ve mentioned before that my travel luck hasn’t been great; trips have been canceled, postponed or rescheduled. So it wasn’t much of a surprise, it was more of a “What the f , again!” moment.

But hey! When life gives you lemons, make lemonade. Lemonade a la Krabi. It was a 2 hour flight from Hong Kong, so getting there was easy as. We decided on Krabi because although we couldn’t make it to the race, we still wanted to be active and be adventurous. There were endless standalone floating islands, lagoons, caves to be explored, with the help of the lovely staff from our resort (the Ritz Carlton reserve Phulay bay) we chartered a fisherman boat and ventured into the hidden treasures of Krabi, Thailand.

Like a fat kid in a candy store, I wanted to touch everything, swing on every swing, snorkel off the shore, climb every tree. I wanted to cartwheel everywhere. (If only I knew how) Every corner, every direction I turned was another jaw droppingly beautiful scenery to gasp for. Needless to say, Krabi definitely satiated the adventure junkie in me. It also made up for missing out on that race I trained ever so hard for.

Who wants lemonade?
